Carol Beth Anderson Beth

Carol Beth Anderson (who goes by Beth) lives in the Austin, Texas area, where she's a young-ish widow, mom to two young adults, dog mom, snake grandma, self-published author, audiobook narrator, and volunteer. When Beth graduated from college with a BA in theatre/drama, she had no idea she’d eventually write fantasy books. She certainly couldn’t have predicted she’d pen a memoir about the months leading up to her widowhood from the cute guy she was then dating. (She didn’t predict the “snake grandma” thing either, but sure enough, one of her home’s inhabitants is her daughter’s ball python, Myrtle.) For many years, Beth wrote when her muse inspired her, including creating a mom blog when those were all the rage. In 2017, she began writing a fantasy novel. A year later, she left her job to focus full-time on creative work. One novel turned into a series, then another series. By 2023, Beth had self-published nearly a dozen books and narrated audiobooks for most of them. She’s now working on completing her memoir, which she plans to publish either traditionally or as an independent author. Since her husband’s death from stomach cancer in early 2025, Beth has invested time with various non-profit organizations. She’s the Vice President of the Board of Wish Upon a Wedding, an organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to those facing terminal illness. She also volunteers at the infusion center where her husband received his chemo treatment, spending time weekly with patients there. As she moves forward in a life that looks different than she expected it to, Beth’s goals are to care for her family, keep creativity paramount in her life, and continue to embrace both grief and joy.
